Introduction
The Internal Payment Transfer module for Odoo enhances your accounting system by allowing direct internal transfers between journals or accounts—such as moving funds from one bank to another or between cash and bank journals. It removes the manual burden of creating offsetting entries, ensuring that both sides of the transfer are recorded properly. Ideal for companies managing internal liquidity, interdepartmental transfers, or multi-account cash flows, this module ensures accuracy and simplifies fund reallocation.
Key Features
Transfer funds between internal journals (e.g. bank to cash, cash to bank) as payment entries
Automatic generation of sending and receiving journal entries to maintain balance
Reconciliation compatibility so internal transfers can be matched cleanly in bank reconciliation
Configure journal settings to designate which journals can act as sources or destinations
User-friendly interface aligned with accounting workflows (Payment menus, internal transfer options)
Benefits
Ensures accounting accuracy by automatically balancing both sides of internal fund movement
Saves time by removing manual journal entry creation for internal transfers
Improves transparency in internal liquidity shifts across journals and accounts
Simplifies reconciliation by treating transfers as paired, traceable payments
Reduces risk of errors when moving money internally, especially in multi-account setups
